Attraction to a woman from a very early age

I`ve met enough women who insist that they have been attracted only to women through their whole conscious life. They have been so clear about their own feelings that they have known from an early age they were attracted solely to women. They might have been unable to name this feeling, but they have been acutely aware of what they liked and attracted them. The only problem has been how to identify themselves. Most often, these women doubt their sexual identity the least, and get very insulted if someone questions their homosexuality. In conversations with these grown up women (or in their postings and letters), I often hear (or read) "I have always known that" or "I know that since I remember myself". And since I`m extremely skeptical person, I have always wondered how it is possible for a person to know herself so well, without any external influence. They will tell me that this feeling has always been there - inside as a inseparable part of them- and it is there to such an extent that they cannot imagine they were or will be any different than that. They can remember their crushes on young and beautiful female teachers or older female friends of their sisters and brothers. They remember how much they`ve cried when a beloved female co- student has danced with a BOY! Gosh- the pain was horrible! But they (I wonder why) have felt that they have to keep their feelings secret. They`ve known that they were different, and if someone understood, it will... what will? Well, noone knows what will happen, but it will be horrible... They were filled with the feeling that thet were the only ones like that, and this is an often heard statement of such women. Most of them not only remember that they felt different, but that they were the only ones falling in love with girls and that they will never find another girl like them. At the same time they were fully aware that they cannot change. What a terrible way to find who you are, right?
Growing up some more, finding out the meaning and the message of words as "lesbian" and "homosexuality" in newspapers, books, dictionaries has been as God`s revelation for these girls. Right away, the world seems not only a wonderful place to live, but they find their own place in it. The relief is great when they find out new possibilities and plans that await them, and things do not seem hopeless. The first steps look exactly as the ones of a child which enters a store full of toys. Most women retell that they felt as burned by electric waves on the inside, they were happy, active,they constantly smiled.Happy times. Then the girl becomes a young woman, the feeling of energy and direction wake up in her again, and she rushes to become a part of the lesbian community, She begins spending her whole free time in pubs and cafes where lesbians go, in the offices or at the initiatives of Bitilis, in internet clubs or chats for lesbians. As a whole, the girl is totally immersed in the lesbian circles, and they replace her former social circles (friends, team pals, co- students, family). Lesbian cricles take the central place. She can feel the need to reveal in front of everyone her sexuality which is still a secret, but she has already found an environment where she feels her own and homey. She is convinced that some day she will find the Woman, she will stop her eyes at Her and they will live happily together until... Until when actually..?
